From January 8, 2023, China restarted its visa-free policy. You can travel to China without applying a new visa if you qualify for visa-free transit policy.
從2023年1月8日起，中國重啟了免簽證政策。如果您有資格享受免簽證過境政策，您可以在不申請新簽證的情況下前往中國。
Or you can also apply a new visa to China. Now the types of visas you can apply for include Z visa, M visa, Q visa, S visa, X visa, etc.

1). Visa-Free Policy

Now tourist visa is still not available to enter China. But China now restarted its visa-free policy. If you meet the conditions, you can travel to China without applying a new visa.

The requirements of 144-hour visa-free policy:

Passport holders from the 53 countries including USA, Canada, UK, Australia, France, Germany, Singapore, etc.來自美國、加拿大、英國、澳大利亞、法國、德國、新加坡等53個國家的護照持有人。You must be in transit to a third country or region (Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan are included). For example, USA–Beijing–Hong Kong is an acceptable itinerary for a 144-hour transit policy, but USA–Beijing–USA is not.您必須在前往第三國或地區的途中（包括香港、澳門和臺灣）。例如，對于144小時過境政策，美國-北京-香港是可以接受的行程，但美國-北京–美國不是。You need a visa for the third country/region (if needed).你需要第三個國家/地區的簽證（如果需要）。You must stay within the permitted region and not travel out of it at all. Note: Foreigners entering China with Z visa are not allowed to work (wage payment and declaration are not allowed) until they finally obtain work permit and residence permit. Otherwise, it will be judged as illegal work and cause visa refusal.
注意：外國人持Z簽證入境，在最終獲得工作許可證和居留許可兩個證件之前，外國人是不允許工作的（不能進行工資發放和申報）。否則會被判定為非法工作而造成拒簽。
3). For Family Reunion (S or Q Visa)

1.If a foreigner applies for a business M visa to enter China, the purpose of the foreigner's application to the Chinese Consulate must be business. To participate in work, he/she must enter China and then sign a labor relationship with a Shanghai company to convert into a work visa.
1.如果外國人申請商務M簽證入境，那外國人去中國領事館申請來華的目的必須是商務，參加工作必須入境后再和上海公司簽訂勞動關系轉成工作簽證。

Method two: by APEC cards

If you hold a valid APEC business travel card, you can enter China with the card directly without applying a new visa.

If your APEC business travel card is issued by the United States or Canada, you still need to apply a new visa.
